As a Professor of Chemistry and Medicine at Nanyang Technological University, Professor Chen’s research endeavors span a wide spectrum of areas. His innovative work encompasses interactive materials and devices, integrated nano-bio interfaces, and cyber-human interfaces and systems. His pioneering research has led to his publication of over 280 high-profile articles in esteemed journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Electronics, and Angewandte Chemie, among others.
Beyond his academic excellence, Professor Chen has demonstrated a profound commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists. His mentorship has empowered numerous students and researchers, and more than 40 of his group’s alumni have secured academic positions at various universities globally. His dedication to teaching has earned him the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award, reflecting his passion and commitment to education.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of ACS Nano and is also actively involved in editorial roles in other journals such as ACS Materials Letters and Advanced Materials.
