Dr. Austin Biaggne joined the IIN as a research associate in July 2024. After graduating from Washington State University with a B.S. in physics in 2018, Austin attended Boise State University, where he earned his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering in 2023. Before joining Northwestern, Austin briefly continued at Boise State as a postdoctoral research fellow, where he built on his passion for teaching and mentoring.
Austin has interests and research experience in computational chemistry and materials for quantum information science applications. He was born and raised in Boise, where he fostered a passion for soccer and snowboarding. Austin enjoys walking his pug, Obi-Wan, and exploring Chicago in his free time.
